The exhibition rooms/special exhibition rooms, consisting of three rooms of varying sizes, are located on the lush green grounds of the Nanjo Art Museum, closest to the forest of the World Heritage Site Sefa-utaki. The large and medium exhibition rooms have glass windows on all sides, outside terrace seating, colourful wall art and a grassy art plaza, all creating the feeling of a vastly open space. The minimalist small exhibition room has a small, horizontal panel window allowing for a sense of relief when visitors see the green leaves outside. In the pleasant openness of the natural surroundings, visitors can spend time viewing art while relaxing their minds and bodies. These rooms contain both a permanent collection, along with unique special exhibitions in collaboration with national and international artists and galleries.
